Scholarships

Scholarships help pay for college or university and reduce the need for loans. Scholarships are given based on merit, community service, financial need, and other factors. Through foundations, local programs, private scholarships, and university programs, there are many opportunities to assist you covering the cost of higher education.

The Arizona Community Foundation is the state’s largest provider of private scholarships—more than 100 total.  Through their online system, students complete one application and are matched with available scholarships, based on their eligibility requirements. Scholarships here.

 

The Helios Ready Now Yuma Scholars program supports seniors with financial need attending an accredited post-secondary institution and pursuing any field of study. Students must be enrolled full-time in an accredited college or university and pursuing a 4-year degree. This scholarship is renewable if students are in good standing and maintain the required GPA.

The scholarship is worth up to $15,000 each year and is renewable up to three additional years and is part of Helios’ more than $3 million investment over 10 years in Yuma Union High School District students through the scholarship program. Learn more about the scholarship here.
